Women Informatics Thesis Award (WITA) 2027

The Special Interest Group Women and Informatics is once again awarding prizes to female graduates for outstanding theses with a focus on computer science. With this award, the group aims to highlight the achievements of young women in computer science and encourage committed women in IT to present themselves to a wider audience.

Global Young Academy: Call for New Members 2027

The Global Young Academy (GYA) is inviting applications for its 2027 cohort. The call is open to young, independent scholars from all research-based disciplines, including the natural, physical and social sciences, as well as the arts and humanities. Applicants from government, industry, and non-governmental sectors are also welcome, provided they hold a PhD or equivalent degree.

The GYA seeks researchers in the early to middle stages of their independent careers who combine excellent research with a strong interest in impact. Applicants should show engagement in science communication, policy, or international and interdisciplinary collaboration. Depending on year of birth and PhD date, specific eligibility rules apply.

Selected new members are expected to attend the GYA Annual General Meeting, which will take place from 21 to 25 June 2027 in Indonesia. The application must be submitted in English by 15 September 2026, 18:00 UTC via the online form.

Interested students can apply directly to the DAAD for the scholarship and one of the advertised internships. Alternatively, Master's and PhD students can also organize an internship themselves and apply for a scholarship only.

 

Current application deadlines:

PhD and postdoc applications can be submitted at any time, but four months before the planned stay.

The program is aimed at German and international doctoral students and postdocs in all disciplines related to green hydrogen for research and internships in Germany and worldwide.
