The Azrieli Foundation is now accepting applications for two international fellowship programmes for research stays in Israel.

The Azrieli International Visiting PhD Fellowship supports short-term research stays at top Israeli universities. PhD candidates can receive 12,000 NIS (~3.400 EUR) per month for a period of four months. The application deadline for the Spring 2027 cohort is 15 September 2026.

The Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027–28 supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers from any discipline based at academic institutions in Israel. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of 14,000 NIS (~4.000 EUR) for up to three years. The application deadline is 11 November 2026.

Please note that applicants to both programmes must secure an academic sponsor in Israel prior to submitting their application.

The Study & Teaching Fund at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is launching a new funding round. All members of the university – including departments, university institutions, and student groups – are eligible to apply.

Funding priorities include digital and interactive teaching formats, the integration of international students, and education for sustainable development. The focus is particularly on:

• Teaching and learning projects that strengthen students' digital sovereignty and further develop their critical thinking and judgment skills, especially in dealing with digital technologies.

• Teaching and learning projects that support the social and academic integration of international students and facilitate their transition into the regional labour market.

• Innovative teaching and learning projects to strengthen future and design competencies in the field of sustainable development.

The maximum funding amount is €5,000 for individual projects and €10,000 for joint projects.

Project applications can be submitted until 31 October 2026. Please use only the form on the website of the Study & Teaching Fund. There you will also find detailed information on funding, the required documents, and the selection process. The decision on funding is made by the Senate Commission for Study and Teaching.

The Special Interest Group Women and Informatics is once again awarding prizes to female graduates for outstanding theses with a focus on computer science. With this award, the group aims to highlight the achievements of young women in computer science and encourage committed women in IT to present themselves to a wider audience.

The Global Young Academy (GYA) is inviting applications for its 2027 cohort. The call is open to young, independent scholars from all research-based disciplines, including the natural, physical and social sciences, as well as the arts and humanities. Applicants from government, industry, and non-governmental sectors are also welcome, provided they hold a PhD or equivalent degree.

The GYA seeks researchers in the early to middle stages of their independent careers who combine excellent research with a strong interest in impact. Applicants should show engagement in science communication, policy, or international and interdisciplinary collaboration. Depending on year of birth and PhD date, specific eligibility rules apply.

Selected new members are expected to attend the GYA Annual General Meeting, which will take place from 21 to 25 June 2027 in Indonesia. The application must be submitted in English by 15 September 2026, 18:00 UTC via the online form.
