How Digital Technologies Rewrite Our World

On July 16–17, 2026, the Heidelberg Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HGGS) invites researchers at all career levels to the Summer Forum themed “ImA(I)gining the Future: How Digital Technologies Rewrite Our World.”

The event explores how digital technologies—particularly AI—shape our present and future. Participants will enjoy two keynote lectures by renowned international experts, interactive workshops, and interdisciplinary exchange on technology, society, and culture.

What’s new in the TK-StudyGuide 2025?

We’re starting the new semester with freshly updated content, shaped by the feedback and wishes of last semester’s participants.

For the winter term 2025/26, students can choose from 38 inspiring webinars covering topics such as:

• Arriving in Germany – orientation and support for international students

• Mental health in student life – strategies for stress, pressure, and overwhelm

• Self-marketing in job applications – practical tips for your career start

• Nutrition and social media – trends, tips, and evidence-based insights

All webinars are available in both German and English.

Easy, digital, and free

The TK-StudyGuide is a free digital offer that universities can easily integrate into their own programs – with no additional organizational effort and without tying up extra staff resources. Individual webinars can also be shared separately.

The event series is organized by the Consortium for Social, Behavioral, Educational, and Economic Sciences (KonsortSWD - NFDI4Society) in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and the Research Data Education Network (VerbundFDB). Once a month, employees of research data centers and researchers present selected data sets and answer questions about data access and data use. The event series is aimed at students and early-career researchers who want to conduct research using existing data, as well as teachers.

The next season will focus on data from educational research. It starts on January 15!

When? Starting January 15, 2026, every third Thursday of the month, 1:15-2:00 p.m.
