Do you have a background in the natural sciences, engineering, medicine or psychology?
And are you aiming for a full professorship or a habilitation?


Apply now for the Hector Research Career Development Award!

As a prize winner, you can benefit from research funding for your outstanding research project.

In addition, you will become part of a network of top scientists, including the winners of the Hector Science Award.

The Academy is committed to interdisciplinary cutting-edge research, innovative projects, the dialog between science and society and the promotion of young researchers.

Scope of funding:

✓ 25,000 € flexible personal research funds
✓ Funding of a doctoral position (according to DFG funding scheme) and material costs in the HFA for up to 4 years (€ 9,500/a)
✓ Membership in the Hector Fellow Academy for five years

Your profile:

✓ W1 assistant professor (with or without tenure track) or junior research group leader in the natural or engineering sciences, medicine or psychology
✓ PhD or PhD equivalent with excellent results & graduated less than 7 years ago (exceptions may apply, e.g. clinical traineeship, parental leave, see program information)
✓ Temporary employment at a German university or research institution that supports the application
✓ Content-related or formal authorization to supervise doctoral students

The Junge Akademie invites outstanding young female scientists and artists to apply for the next membership selection in 2025! As the world's first academy for young talents, the Junge Akademie promotes interdisciplinary exchange and offers its members numerous opportunities to advance their own projects.

Every year, the Academy accepts ten new members from all disciplines who stand out for their scientific or artistic achievements. Membership not only opens up access to a diverse network, but also offers financial support for the realization of innovative ideas.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Completed doctorate or artistic qualification (between three and seven years since graduation, taking into account parental, care or sick leave).
  • Sound knowledge of German.

Flu vaccination 2024


The Occupational Health Management of Otto von Guericke University invites all employees to get the flu vaccination again this year.


When/Where: 

  • Thursday, October 24 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 29 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • in the conference room on the first floor of the university library

Further vaccinations:

Vaccination options against tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough (Tdpa) and pneumococcus (from the age of 60)

Costs:

The flu vaccination and the other vaccinations are free of charge for those with statutory health insurance. Please bring your vaccination card and your health insurance chip card with you!

Privately insured persons will receive an invoice, which can then be submitted to the health insurance company for reimbursement.
The cost is € 48.67 (Vaxigrip Tetra vaccine for people under 60, consultation, vaccination service) or € 79.25 (Eflueda vaccine for people under 60).
(Eflueda vaccine for people aged 60 and over, consultation, vaccination service).

Notes:

Vaccination is not possible if you have symptoms of illness, infections or fever.
