Magdeburge Cathedral

The Magdeburg Cathedral is one of the most famous landmarks of Magdeburg. The cathedral can be visited free of charge during opening hours. You can also take part in guided tours for a fee. On special dates you can even take part in a torcDomplatzh tour of the cathedral.

Cathedral Museum Ottonianum

Opened in 2018, the museum is located directly next to Magdeburg Cathedral. In the museum you will find more detailed information about Otto and his wife Editha and about the excavations in Magdeburg Cathedral.

Hundertwasser House Hundertwasserhaus

The Hundertwasser House is also known as the "Green Citadel". In the house there is a day care center, hotel rooms and apartments. In the inner courtyard of the building you can stroll in different shops or enjoy the varied gastronomic offer. To get to know the building better, guided tours are offered, during which you can climb the tower and then enjoy the view over Magdeburg.

The Museum of Natural History is located in the same building as the Cultural History Museum. The exhibition topics mainly cover nature, ecology or nature and species protection.

Gruson greenhouses Magdeburg

Moritzplatz Memorial Magdeburg

The building of the Moritzplatz Memorial was used from 1945 to 1989 by the GDR Ministry of State Security as a remand centre for political prisoners. Today the building serves as a memorial. Guided tours can also be booked by prior arrangement.
