Target group

This workshop is aimed at all advanced doctoral candidates and postdocs who are preparing to take on their first managerial tasks.

 

Objectives

Doctoral candidates often take on their first management positions shortly after starting their careers. In the workshop you will get to know important aspects of inspiring personnel management that you and your employees enjoy and that is geared towards modern business requirements.

 

Contents

  • Basic questions of leadership: What makes a good manager?
  • How can I integrate previous experiences into my own leadership style?
  • The manager as a role model
  • Motivation and enthusiasm as important factors
  • The role of communication in successful leadership
  • Confidently hold important company discussions, such as annual employee reviews, feedback discussions, conflict discussions and others
  • Aspects of successful team development
  • Radiate security and authenticity in change processes

Free of charge for doctoral students and postdocs in Magdeburg.

If you are unable to attend after registration, please contact us immediately at graduate.academy@ovgu.de  .

Please note that without your timely cancellation of your participation and/or in case of your non-appearance on the day of the event, we would be obliged to claim the pro-rata costs of the event incurred in relation to your person as damages.
